Meet Denise (she/they)

Denise is a Queer woman of Caribbean descent, proudly born and raised in NYC. She’s a committed advocate and doula who brings over a decade of experience as a community organizer for social, racial, and environmental justice, as well as immigrant rights. Fluent in both English and Spanish, with proficiency in Haitian Creole and some sign language,  she strives to ensure that language barriers are never a hindrance to accessing quality care. 

Denise is a certified lactation consultant and received their full spectrum doula certification from Ancient Song Doula Services in NYC in 2018. She specializes in childbirth education facilitation, pregnancy, labor, and postpartum care, as well as miscarriage and abortion support. Their passion lies in offering inclusive, culturally competent care, ensuring that every individual they work with feels heard, informed and empowered throughout their reproductive health journey. 

Denise is particularly committed to serving the LGBTQ+ community and individuals of a Black, Indigenous or POC experience. She’s dedicated her career to challenging the systemic injustices embedded within the medical system, while advocating for gender affirming care in all aspects of reproductive health and childbirth. Their holistic approach to doula care reflects their unwavering dedication to equity and justice.
